I know a lot of people mean well when they tell someone grieving that they have to "move on". But the truth is, the idea of moving on without a significant loved one makes the pain so much worse. Below is a link to a poignant and beautifully delivered TedTalk by Nora McInerny about how moving on is a gut-wrenching thought... but the concept of "moving forward" is one that is easier to grasp. She talks about how the life one can create after loss does not have to be a competing entity with the past, but it is all “strands to the same thread”. I hope you find it helpful.

Psst... I See Dead People.
